The types of encapsulated transformers used on PCBs
Toroidal encapsulated transformers
The function for encapsulated transformer
Vacuum potting fix the lamination steel and bobbin, and at the same time, ensure that the transformer will not corrode when placed in the air for a long time. It is perfect for applications in harsh environments, where dust, lint, moisture and corrosive contaminants can accumulate.
The advantage for encapsulated transformer
1. Stability:
Transformers are generally vacuum potted with epoxy resin glue. Considering epoxy resin glue has the function of heat dissipation, there is no need to worry about poor heat dissipation of transformer, no increase in temperature rise, and good transformer stability.
2. Moisture proof:
It is easy for the insulating paint to collide during use, which results in it falling off, while epoxy resin glue of the encapsulated transformer cannot do so.
3. Waterproof:
Put the encapsulated transformer into water and take it out. You can continue to use it only by wiping the surface of the encapsulated transformer dry. Therefore, the encapsulated transformer has good waterproof performance.
4. Lifetime:
Lamination steel and copper wire corrosion is caused by the reaction with oxygen in the air, which results in corrosion of the lamination steel. In the encapsulated transformer, the copper wire and lamination steel are completely isolated from the air, so corrosion is unlikely. By corroding the lamination steel, the magnetic permeability will decrease, and by corroding the copper wire (which causes the flow rate to decrease and the heat to increase), the lifespan of the encapsulated transformer will be extended.
